New to our art wall is the very whimsical and imaginative work of local illustrator Christy Litster.  Her pieces have such titles as Marvin’s Psychedelia and Galactic Disco, and the work is filled with detail and bright bold colour.  The biography she sent us came with the disclaimer, “my art is supposed to be weird/lighthearted-my bio is the same :0) You’ll see”.   And we do!

New to Made in Windsor are stunning stained glass by Rosemary Waldron. These are beautifully crafted pieces that would accentuate any room. Rosemary also does custom orders for her clients and can create pieces based on any design element in your home.

Wednesdays June 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th:10-11 am.

Storytime for caregivers and children ages 2-5. An hour of reading, singing, dancing and a simple craft. No registration needed.

Japanese Book-Binding Workshop with Jodi

Tuesday, June 29th: 7-9:30 p.m.

Explore a modern take on traditional Japanese book-binding techniques with Jodi Green. Create your own soft-covered notebook using 1 of 4 possible stitch patterns. These techniques can be used to put together your own sketchbooks and journals with recycled paper. Space is limited, so sign up for this class quickly!

The series was inspired by a story he saw on television that showed how eggs were being used to create a vaccine for the H1N1 influenza virus. “I was already fascinated by the shape, colour and different uses of the egg to the point that I imagined it being a subject of artistic creation. I wanted to make a connection between the so fragile egg shell and the hidden powers of an egg.”

Arturo was born in Hondoras in 1977. His early work has been shown at the Chicago Modernism Show in Chicago Illinois, Winnetka Modernism Show in Winnetka Illinois, Dennos Museum Center in Traverse City Michigan, Washington Street Gallery in Ann Arbor,  Michigan and currently has work  at the Art Gallery of Windsor in the Art Rental and Sales section. Herrera now lives in  Canada, his new home, where he shares his projects and ideas with his partner and friends.
